Oh glorious day: 23andme updated their ancestry algorithm! My percentages changed!
I thought I was fulfilled. Was my previous assignment of 99.7% Ashkenazi Jewish not enough proof? But no, my Jewish heart can still grow three sizes larger when supplied with a more accurate (well, that is debatable; 23andme in general seems more sciencey—digestible for the masses—than actual science) ancestry percentage report.
Good people, the sciencey aspects don’t matter. I have here in my hand (actually, on my screen) such a turnaround. Such a rise in validation.
Previously:
0.3% unassigned, 99.7% Ashkenazi Jewish.
Now:
0.2% unassigned, 99.8% Ashkenazi Jewish.
I. AM. SHOCKED!!!
What a revelation this DNA testing is. Around every corner and every update, another surprise.
